London Tour - Next Steps!
We are pleased to announce that we have 175+ students pre-registered for the London New Year's Day Parade (2019) Tour, and we are officially moving forward with tour planning. Get excited!
What happens next?
Parent/Guardian Emails to Destination Events
Our staff will use the email addresses you provided, and register your student(s) into the Destination Events Web Portal. The entry of this data may take several days; we expect to have all student information entered by Wednesday of this week. Once the email address is entered in that system, you should receive a confirmation email from Destination Events, and the likely subject heading will be: Created Account. The email will also state the name of the student traveler and say, "You're going on a trip to: LNYDP 2019." You will need to click on the "Activate Account" button. Once the account is activated, you will be able to begin making tour payments in the system.
If you registered one or more children for the tour, and you do not receive emails for registration by the end of this week, please contact Brayer Teague directly, via email.
Exceptions for Registration - Color Guard
If you registered your child as a potential Color Guard member of the tour, but your child is not concurrently enrolled in a Band Class at North High, we will WAIT to enter your student's information until after the Color Guard auditions take place in April. We have assurances from Destination Events that we may add additional students in the first week of May 2018. We are holding on registering these students as a protective measure to assure families that they will not lose deposit money. Your family may, of course, begin to save/bank money privately. If you have any questions, please contact Brayer Teague directly, via email.
Help me understand why I need to "Follow By Email"?
As we mentioned at our meeting, all future correspondence about the tour will be done by posting to the Tour Blog. It is critically important that family members (parents, and student participants) register their preferred email addresses through the form in the upper left corner of the Tour Blog. Don't forget to look for a verification email (from Google, or FeedBurner), and verify your email address.

May we still register a student if we missed the November 12 Pre-Registration Deadline?
Yes. We may add additional students through the first week of May 2018. Please email Brayer Teague directly if you would like to add a student to the tour roster.

Follow Our Umbrella to London!
The Lord Mayor and the Executive Director of the London New Year's Day Parade bestowed upon Carrie Gorman the critically important job of guarding and protecting the LNYDP Umbrella for the next 15 months. She must have the umbrella with her at all times and transport it to London for the 2019 Parade. Employing the reasoning that "it never rains when you pack your umbrella," Carrie's ability to successfully complete this important mission will have a direct impact on the January 1, 2019 weather. At least so we are told.
