The Lord Mayor and the Executive Director of the London New Year's Day Parade bestowed upon Carrie Gorman the critically important job of guarding and protecting the LNYDP Umbrella for the next 15 months. She must have the umbrella with her at all times and transport it to London for the 2019 Parade. Employing the reasoning that "it never rains when you pack your umbrella," Carrie's ability to successfully complete this important mission will have a direct impact on the January 1, 2019 weather. At least so we are told.

Thursday, October 19, 2017 was an exciting day in the history of the DGN Band program as Lord Mayor Duncan Sandys, great-grandson of Sir Winston Churchill, extended an invitation to the Trojan Marching Band to return to London, England and perform in the January 1, 2019 London New Year's Day Parade. Churchill's Great Grandson to Present Official Invitation to DGN Band

The Past Lord Mayor of Westminster, Duncan Sandys - great-grandson of Sir Winston Churchill - will be on campus today to extend an official invitation for the DGN Trojan Marching Band to perform in the 2019 London New Year's Day Parade.

The official Invitation Ceremony, which includes a performance of the DGN Trojan Marching Band, will be live-streamed at 12:00 PM (CST) on the DGN Fine Arts Department YouTube Channel. Tune in HERE.
